What is website archiving?
Website archiving is an online process of accessing (crawl) and copying (harvest) the website to capture whole structure and information within it then save it in the format required by MyGWA system. Later this website can be accessed and navigated back using MyGWA application.

What is the objective for website archiving?
Website contains information that is countinously updated from time to time using the latest technology platform. If this website is not captured and reserved, this priceless information will not be preserved for next generation reference.

What is MyGWA
MyGWA contains collection of government website and selected website like 2017 SEA Games, TN50 and many more under the government agencies.

How do I know what can be found in MyGWA?
User can search for it from the MyGWA portal using the Search and Advanced Search function to find and view website collection that has been archived.

How is MyGWA system accessing the government agency’s website?
MyGWA system is using its web crawler function to access (crawl) the website automatically.

Is the archived website in MyGWA functioning as original website?
Yes, the archived website will be displayed and navigated like the original website. However, there is few limitation that will cause some of the content can’t be captured.

How do I get my agency’s website to be archived?
For the non-listed agency’s website in MyGWA, you could email to the portal administrator by mygwa@arkib.gov.my for further enquiry.

Can I use the archived website in the MyGWA as a backup for the original website?
No, MyGWA system is not storing the agency’s website CMS and database. The archived website is just a snapshot of the original website.

Can I use and download the content from archived website in the MyGWA for personal used?
Yes. User can access, surf and view all website contents in the MyGWA system because the archived website is public and subjected to the agency’s copyrights.

Can MyGWA be accessed from smartphone, Ipad and others?
Yes. MyGWA system can be accessed from a smartphone, Ipad and others.
 
11.
What is the web browser used to surf MyGWA system?
User can use web browser like Chrome, IE, Safari, Opera and others to surf MyGWA.
 
12.
How to get the copyright in order to use the information and content from the archived website in MyGWA portal?
User must write in a request permission to the required agency in order to use the information and content from their archived website in MyGWA. National Archives of Malaysia is not responsible on the validity of information contains in the agency’s archived website.
